This project is created for:
Rotterdam Photo - "Echoes of Silence: War in the Artists Soul".
and will be exhibited during the 2026 exhibition.
March 25th - 29th, Deliplein, Rotterdam.
"The Dream of Reason" is modern, photographic, adaptation of a centuries-old protest against war and violence. This project is inspired by symbolic artworks of various ages.
The main work is a large photo-collage following the lines, theme and symbolism of the iconic painting 'Guernica' by Picasso. On top of this, each individual element also has its own references behind it. (for all stories, read the posts on my Instagram)
When you take the word “war” out of its literal meaning, this project displays modern scenes of war, within us as well as around us.
It is about humans and our deficiencies, and the impact of this on the individual.
It all began with personal perspectives, then I discovered I shared these with some people from the past who already made art about it.
