The Dream of Reason

“The Dream of Reason” is a large photo-collage, that consists of analog and digital photography. 

The different elements and characters are also presented seperately.

This project is created for:

Rotterdam Photo - "Echoes of Silence: War in the Artists Soul".

and will be exhibited during the 2026 exhibition.

When you take the word 'war' out of its literal meaning this work displays modern scenes of war; within us as well as around us. And that is what each individual character or symbol represents.

Inspired by famous symbolic paintings of various ages, this work is my modern, photographic, adaptation of a centuries-old protest against war and violence.

It is about humans and their deficiencies, the dark sides of society and the impact of this on the individual.

All of this intertwined with this my personal view of the world and my place in it as an artist.
