Around 2010 I bought my first camera. I was 7 years old, lived in Zeeland, and was inspired to take photo’s myself because of the way my family documented me and things we did through photography and video. As I got older and went to high school, photography slipped away from me for some time although I still had a big fascination for art and always kept observing. It wasn’t until 2022 I picked up the camera again and made my study switch to photography. Life can be overwhelming sometimes but there is still a big urge in me to create, and bring the ideas in my head to life.

Photography and other mediums are still my way of documenting life but now in a more experimental way. Life for me right now can get very complex, abstract and sometimes surreal and that is the part I want to visualise in my art. I want to highlight deeper layers in this world, in the human psyche or my personal emotions and explore this by creating art that is meant to make people wonder about the meaning rather than understanding, just like our dreams.

By following my intuition, in the pursuit to make sense to this life I am documenting, the subjects I visualise can vary a lot and will also vary between photography, video and audio. The rest of the senses can only be stimulated by ourselves.
