About

While growing up in Zeeland I was inspired by the camera’s ability to capture this life’s beautiful, but passing, moments.

When I moved to Rotterdam to pursue my studies in this field, the complex medium of photography showed me a lot of possibilities.

I started to become interested in the art’s history, philosophy and psychology while still discovering what it means to grow up and to be an artist myself.

Inspired by surrealist and expressionist painters, I try not to document reality with photos, but to create a glimpse into another world. Opposite of when I was a child, I now want to find the more complex, abstract or surreal moments.

In my work I want to explore the deeper layers of this world, the human psyche- or my own. My work is meant to make people wonder about the meaning rather than understanding, just like our dreams.
